Helen Thomas Minnich and Joseph John Willy

Joseph John Willy was born 07 or 08 Jun 1907 in Columbia, PA, the son of Anna H Greulich and George C Willy. By 1930, he had become a foreman in a printshop.

Some time between 1930 and 1940, Joseph married Helen Thomas Minnich, the daughter of Elsie Sload and Thomas Jefferson Minnich born 02 May 1907. She was the youngest of three daughters. I suspect that she was given "Thomas" as a middle name because it had become obvious that there were not going to be any sons. As of 1930, Helen was working as a saleslady at a stationery store.

The 1940 US Census found Joseph and Helen living in Columbia at 726 Walnut Street. Joseph was working as a printer for a newspaper. Their son Joseph Thomas was born 26 Sep 1941 and married Michaelene Doyle 21 Nov 1964.

Helen died 29 Mar 1987 in Wrightsville, York County, directly across the Susquehanna River from Columbia. Joseph died not quite two years later, on 16 Jan 1989, also in Wrightsville. Joseph Thomas died 11 Nov 2017. All three are buried in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Columbia.
