Anna Catharina and Johann Jacob Hohl

Johann Jacob and Anna Catharina were one of the two couples having children christened under the name Hohl in Freinsheim during the years 1740-1760. Johann Jacob is almost certainly the son of Wilhelm Hohl christened 01 Oct 1710. The question is, who's Anna Catharina?

Johann Jacob christened 01 Oct 1710 is probably the Johann Jacob son of Wilhelm Ludwig who married Catharina Magdalena Osswald, the daughter of Johann Henrich Osswald and Anna Catherina Werner, in Freinsheim on 15 Sep 1744. However, Catharina Magdalena is referred to by this name on both her christening and marriage records. It doesn't seem likely that she'd suddenly turn into Anna Catharina on not just one but all of her children's christening records.

Anna Catharina and Johann Jacob had eight children, of whom one died young:

• Anna Elisabetha born 12 Oct 1747, christened 15 Oct 1747;
• Philipp Jacob born 12 Oct 1748, christened 13 Oct 1748;
• Johann Peter born 18 Dec 1750, christened 21 Dec 1750. Deceased by September 1752;
• Johann Peter born 26 Sep 1752, christened 29 Sep 1752;
• Maria Catharina born 09 Jan 1755, christened 12 Jan 1755;
• Johannes born 19 Jun 1757, christened 22 Jun 1757; and
• Maria Elisabetha born 10 Mar 1760, christened 12 Mar 1760.

Johannes born 19 Jun 1757 may or may not be the Johannes Reichard Hohl who married Anna Christina Willi in Freinsheim on 17 Feb 1778.
