Anna Christina Neunzehnhöltzer and Johann Jacob Sohn
Johann Jacob Sohn was the son of Anna Margaretha and Christoph or Christoffel Sohn christened 10 Jul 1707 in Freinsheim. On 13 Sep 1740 he married Anna Christina Neunzehnhöltzer in Freinsheim. Anna Christina was the daughter of Anna Susanna Becker and Johann Arnold Neunzehnhöltzer christened 19 Apr 1722 in Freinsheim.
Anna Christina and Johann Jacob had 12 children:
Johann Jakob Sohn died and was buried in Freinsheim on 19 Jun 1774. I don't know what happened to Anna Christina.
Catharina Barbara, Maria Catharina and Eva Catharina are all potential candidates for the Catharina Sohn born between 1739 and 1771 who married Johannes Raffel or Rattel and had at least two children with him. However, there's a glitch. The older of the two children was Johannes Raffel, christened in Freinsheim as a Protestant on 17 Mar 1789. Besides the names of his parents, his christening record includes the name of his maternal grandfather: Johannes Sohn, i.e., not Jacob or Johann Jacob.
There are two men christened in Freinsheim between 1698 and 1753 with the name Johannes Sohn. One was Johann Jacob's brother Johannes christened 28 Dec 1698. The other was Johann Jacob's son christened 27 Dec 1750. However, I don't have any record of either of them having a daughter named Catharina.
It's also unusual for the maternal grandfather to be named. The only other time I've seen this in German christening records is when there is no father named. Thus, the maternal grandfather is the closest male relative who can take responsibility for the child. The issue in young Johannes Raffel's case may have been that his father was Catholic and thus could not take responsibility for the child's education as a good Protestant. The only other record I have a for a child who was definitely the child of Catharina Sohn and Johannes Raffel was that of "Franciscus Josephus" (Franz Joseph) Raffel, who was baptized as a Catholic in Freinsheim 07 Apr 1798.
Catharina Sohn, wife of Johannes Raffel, died and was buried in Freinsheim 23 Jun 1825.
