Barbara Friedrich and Jakob Schaefer
Barbara Friedrich and Jakob Schaefer married in Freinsheim 27 Jul 1819. Jakob, born 30 May 1789, was the son of Eva Catharina Weilbrenner and Ludwig Schaeffer or Schaefer.
I wasn't able to find a birth or christening record for Barbara, who may have been born in the early years of the records gap that began in October 1798. Certainly Friedrich was not a common name in Freinsheim in the 18th century. I found one christening record from 1742 and then nothing further until Christian Friedrich married Anna Maria Werner in 04 Feb 1794. The 19th century records begin with four marriages in 1819, 1826, 1830 and 1834 and the christenings of the children from these marriages. It might be possible that the four Friedrichs involved in these marriages - Barbara, Jacob, Johannes and Christian, respectively - were the children of Anna Maria Werner and Christian Friedrich born during the records gap. However, I have no way to prove that.
Barbara and Jakob had at least 10 children, nine of whom were christened in Freinsheim:
Jakob Sr was buried in Freinsheim 08 Aug 1841.
Barbara, Regina and Philipp immigrated to the States in 1854 along with Ludwig, his wife Katherina Engel and their children.
Johannes, Christian, Friedrich, Regina, Philipp and "Sophia Wolff" are all known or believed to be alive at the time the notice of the probate hearing for Ludwig's estate was published in 1894. Sophia Wolff may have been Ludwig's sister as mentioned above or she may have been Ludwig's niece, Sophia Barth.
