Catharina Heck and Johann Peter Fuhrmann

Johann Peter Fuhrmann was the son of Susanna Iserheld and Johann Nicolaus Fuhrmann born 01 Dec 1754 and christened in Freinsheim the same day. He married Catharina Heck in Freinsheim in November 1773.

Catharina's last name may actually have been Huck. The two names seem to have been used interchangeably in Freinsheim records. In the christening records of her Catharina's nine children, five records refer to her as Maria Catharina, three refer to her simply as Catharina and one refers to her as Anna Catharina. She was mostly likely born 1744-1755. I've found two possibilities, but both are significantly older than Peter. One is Maria Catharina born 04 Jul 1748 and christened in Freinsheim 07 Jul 1748, the daughter of Catharina Hartmeier and Johann Jacob Huck. The other is Catharina born 04 Aug 1746 and christened in Freinsheim 07 Aug 1746, the daughter of Maria Elisabetha Wigand and Johann Jacob Huck. Note that Catharina born 04 Aug 1746 was Maria Elisabetha Wigand's last child, while Catharina Hartmeier married Johann Jacob Huck 11 Apr 1747. It's entirely possible that Maria Elisabetha died and her husband remarried.

As mentioned, Catharina and Johann Peter had at least nine children christened in Freinsheim:

• Johann Jacob born 21 Aug 1774, christened 31 Aug 1774. Deceased by March 1782;
• Anna Christina born 07 Oct 1776, christened 08 Oct 1776;
• Leonhard Conrad born 03 Jan 1779, christened the same day;
• Johann Jacob born 24 Mar 1782, christened 25 Mar 1782. Deceased by July 1784;
• Jacob born 07 Jul 1784, christened 08 Jul 1784;
• Johann Adam born 20 Oct 1786, christened 22 Oct 1786;
• Johannes born 17 Dec 1788, christened 19 Dec 1788;
• Christina Elisabetha born 15 Jan 1791, christened 16 Jan 1791; and
• Christina Margaretha born 30 Apr 1794, christened 01 May 1794.

There may have been more children born to Catharina and Johann Peter during the records gap. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any legal documents concerning this couple that might have helped to fill in the gap.

Here are my best guesses:

• Leonhard Conrad is quite probably the Leonhard Fuhrmann who married Catharina Bayer sometime during the gap;
• Johann Adam is possibly the Adam Fuhrmann who married Anna Elisabetha Ittel in Bisserheim 30 Mar 1812;
• Johannes is possibly but not likely the Johannes Fuhrmann who married Barbara Lind in Freinsheim 30 Nov 1830;
• Christina Elisabetha one of two possibilities for the Christina Fuhrmann who married Philipp Jacob Koelber or Kübler in Freinsheim 25 Mar 1826. (The other possibility is her cousin Maria Christina, the daughter of Susanna Elisabetha Korn and Elias Fuhrmann born 1797.) I have no records of children for Christina and Philipp Jacob. Philipp Jacob's wife Christina died and was buried in Freinsheim 09 Nov 1827.

Catharina Huck, the wife of Peter Fuhrmann, died and was buried in Freinsheim 14 Jan 1825. I have no records as to what happened to Peter.
