Susanna Elisabetha Korn and Elias Fuhrmann

Elias Fuhrmann was the son of Barbara and Johannes Fuhrmann born 09 Dec 1760 and christened in Freinsheim 10 Dec 1760. He married Susanna Elisabetha Korn in Iggelheim 27 Sep 1784. Susanna Elisabetha was the daughter of Maria Christina Reichard and Johann Ludwig Korn christened in Iggelheim 10 Jan 1759.

Iggelheim is 20 km SSE of Freinsheim. The only two Fuhrmann marriage records I can find there are those of Elias in 1784 and Bernhard, son of Philipp, who married Anna Margaretha Bullinger, daughter of Johann Georg, 18 Feb 1772. The only Fuhrmann christening record I can find there is that of Anna Margaretha and Bernhard's son Georg Michael christened 21 Nov 1772. Both Elias and Bernhard appear to have come from away - in Elias' case, from Freinsheim.

As far as I can tell, all nine of Susanna Elisabetha and Elias' children were christened in Freinsheim:

• A unnamed child born and died 21 Jan 1786;
• Johann Ludwig born 25 Feb 1787, christened 27 Feb 1787. Married Christina Elisabetha Engel;
• Maria Barbara born 19 Jul 1789, christened 21 Jul 1789;
• Jacob born 03 Aug 1791, christened 04 Aug 1791. Apparently deceased without issue by 1834;
• Susanna Catharina born 20 Jan 1793, christened 22 Jan 1793. Deceased by December 1794;
• Susanna Catharina born 26 Dec 1794, christened 27 Dec 1794;
• Maria Christina born 14 May 1797, christened 15 May 1797. Apparently deceased by 1834;
• Philippina - apparently born after September 1798 but in or before 1808; and
• Anna Margaretha - apparently born after September 1798 but before January 1816.

A legal notice published 24 Mar 1834 in the Amts- und Intelligenzblatt des Königlich Bayerischen Rheinkreises describes Elias as a Schlosser, a locksmith or metal worker. By this date both he and Susanna Elisabetha were deceased. His estate - a dwelling house and 35 ares (0.35 hectares) arable land - were sold for division among his heirs:

• Anna Margaretha Fuhrmann, daughter, single, without profession, resident in Freinsheim;
• Susanna Katharina, daughter, married to the tailor Jacob Pausch of Freinsheim;
• Philippina, daughter, married to the farmer Georg Spehr of Weisenheim am Sand;
• Christina Margaretha Fuhrmann, granddaughter, married to the cooper Peter Simon of Freinsheim;
• Susanna Fuhrmann, granddaughter, married to the cartwright Heinrich Selzer of Freinsheim;
• Charlotte and Katharina Fuhrmann, granddaughters, without profession, minors, resident with the above-named Pausch as chief guardian, and under secondary guardianship of the baker Valentin Fett resident in resident in Freinsheim; and
• Barbara Fuhrmann, daughter, married to the farmer Jacob Fleischmann of Freinsheim.

The four granddaughters are the children of Johann Ludwig, 1787-1828.

Note the absence of Jacob born 1791 and Maria Christina born 1797. Jacob seems to have died without issue. If he'd left children, they'd presumably be named in the 1834 document as Johann Ludwig's children were.

Maria Christina is one of two possibilties for the Christina Fuhrmann who married Philipp Jacob Koelber or Kübler 25 Mar 1826. (The other possibility is her cousin Christina Elisabetha, the daughter of Catharina Heck and Johann Peter Fuhrmann born 1791.) I have no records of children for Christina and Philipp Jacob. Philipp Jacob's wife Christina died and was buried in Freinsheim 09 Nov 1827, which would fit with the absence of Maria Christina in the 1834 document.

I have no further marriage or burial information on Anna Margaretha, the daughter who was an unmarried adult as of 1834.

Maria Barbara Fuhrmann and Jacob Fleischmann

Maria Barbara Fuhrmann and Jacob Fleischmann married some time before 1816. I wasn't able to find any definitive information as to who Jacob's parents might have been. I know he was a farmer.

Barbara and Jacob had at least seven children christened in Freinsheim, of whom three died young:

• Elisabetha christened 24 Mar 1816;
• Jacob christened 17 Oct 1818. Deceased by February 1828;
• Christina Elisabetha christened 29 Dec 1820;
• Philippina christened 29 Jun 1823. Died and was buried 26 Feb 1824;
• Catharina Margaretha christened 04 Jul 1825;
• Jacob born 24 Feb 1828, christened 02 Mar 1828. Died and was buried 28 Dec 1828; and
• Philipp born 24 Jan 1831, christened 26 Jan 1831.

Susanna Katharina Fuhrmann and Jacob Pausch

Susanna Catharina Fuhrmann and Jacob Pausch married some time before 1816. I wasn't able to find any definitive information as to who Jacob's parents might have been. I know he was a tailor by trade.

Susanna Catharina and Jacob had at least seven children christened in Freinsheim, of whom one died young:

• Philippina, probably born before 1816. Married Johannes Reuther, son of Charlotta Kraus and Caspar Reuther, in Freinsheim 01 Dec 1846;
• Christina christened 25 Jan 1816;
• Jacob christened 29 Jun 1818. Deceased by March 1826;
• Wilhelm born 14 Jun 1823, christened 18 Jun 1823. Married Magdalena Lind, daughter of Elisabetha Kullmann and Franz Lind, in Weisenheim am Sand 23 Aug 1859. Their son Wilhelm married Catharina Schroeder and emigrated to Scranton, PA, with his wife and two daughters in 1908;
• Jacob born 31 Mar 1826, christened 02 Apr 1826;
• Heinrich born 23 Sep 1829, christened 27 Sep 1829. Married Louise Höhn, daughter of Susanna Lack and David Höhn, in Freinsheim 19 Feb 1857;
• Ludwig born 26 Dec 1834, christened 31 Dec 1834; and

• Jacob was named as the guardian of the two minor daughters of Christina Elisabetha Engel and Ludwig Fuhrmann in a legal document in 1833 as well as in the 1834 legal document mentioned above.

  Jacob died and was buried in Freinsheim 14 Jun 1863. I don't know what happened to Susanna Catharina.

  Philippina Fuhrmann and Georg Spehr

  Philippina Fuhrmann married Johann Georg Spehr, a farmer, in Freinsheim 11 Apr 1826. Georg was born 07 Nov 1801 and christened 08 Nov 1801 in Weisenheim am Sand, the son of Sybilla Bechtel and Johannes Spehr.

  Philippina and Georg had seven children, all christened in Weisenheim am Sand. Only one survived to adulthood:

  • Philippina born 21 Feb 1827, christened 23 Feb 1827. Died 22 Mar 1828, buried 24 Mar 1828;
  • Anna Margaretha christened 09 Nov 1828. Married Heinrich Mehn, son of Maria Magdalena Scheuermann and Georg Mehn, in Weisenheim am Sand 21 Dec 1848;
  • Friederich born 12 Aug 1821, christened 14 Aug 1821. Died 31 Dec 1834, buried 02 Jan 1835;
  • Elias born 11 Sep 1833, christened 15 Sep 1833. Died 14 Mar 1835, buried 16 Mar 1835;
  • Michael born 13 Dec 1835, christened 16 Dec 1835. Died 14 Apr 1836, buried 16 Apr 1836;
  • Michael born 12 Apr 1837, christened 16 Apr 1837. Died 27 Apr 1844, buried 29 Apr 1844; and
  • Johannes born 19 Apr 1839, christened 21 Apr 1839. Died 03 May 1843, buried 05 May 1843.

  Johann Georg died in Weisenheim am Sand 14 Oct 1842 and was buried 16 Oct 1842. I don't know what happened to Philippina.
