Elisabetha Mohr and Peter Hohl

Elisabetha Mohr was born 17 May 1842 in Hardenburg, the daughter of Sophia Schweinister and Johann Jacob Mohr. However, she was christened 22 May 1842 in Freinsheim, 9 km northeast of Hardenburg. Let this be a lesson to all of us that birth records are not the same thing as christening records.

Elisabetha married in Freinsheim 01 Aug 1867. Her husband was Peter Hohl, the son of Margaretha Wiegand and Daniel Hohl christened 20 Feb 1843.

Elisabetha and Peter had at least three children, of whom one died young. All were christened in Freinsheim:

• Wilhelm christened 28 Jun 1868;
• Georg born 03 Mar 1870, christened 27 Mar 1870. Deceased by August 1873; and
• Georg born 16 Aug 1873, christened 31 Aug 1873.

There may have been other children. The christening records available to me for Freinsheim end after 1875.
