Margaretha Wiegand and Daniel Hohl

On 10 Aug 1837 Daniel Hohl married Margaretha Wiegand in Freinsheim. I don't have birth records for either the bride or the groom. Daniel was most likely the son or possibly the grandson of Anna Christina Willi and Johannes Reichard Hohl. The absence of a birth record suggests that he was born 1798-1815. If Anna Christina Willi was his mother, he was mostly likely born 1789-1806. I haven't been able to find out anything certain about Margaretha's parents.

I'm fairly sure that Margaretha and Daniel had seven children, of whom two died young:

• Daniel born 11 Feb 1837, christened 12 Feb 1837. He died and was buried in Freinsheim on 27 Jan 1842;
• Susanna christened 18 Jul 1838. She died and buried in Freinsheim on 27 Jun 1845;
• Anna Maria christened 06 Dec 1840;
• Christina born 1841 per her marriage record. I can't find a christening record. She married Jacob Koch, the son of Anna Maria Geier and Johann Leonhardt Koch, in Freinsheim on 17 Aug 1865. They had five children, all christened in Freinsheim;
• Peter christened 20 Feb 1843. His christening record gives his mother's name as "Elisabetha" Wiegand, but I think this may have been an error. His marriage record gives his mother's name as Margaretha. He married Elisabetha Mohr, the daughter of Sophia Schweinister and Johann Jacob Mohr, in Freinsheim on 01 Aug 1867;
• Elisabetha christened 06 Apr 1845. Possibly the mother of three children born in Freinsheim to Elisabetha Hohl, no father listed, 1868-1873 (see below); and
• Johannes christened 31 Dec 1848. Note that this was eight months after his father died.

Daniel died and was buried in Freinsheim on 27 Apr 1848. I don't have any further information on Margaretha.

All of the children christened in Freinsheim under the name Hohl between 1849 and 1875 (when the records end) were born to Johannes Hohl and Elisabetha Webel, to Peter Hohl and Elisabetha Mohr or to Elisabetha Hohl with no father listed. Margaretha and Daniel's daughter Elisabetha was the only Elisabetha Hohl I know of in Freinsheim who would have been a suitable age. Here are her three children:

• Jacob christened 19 Jan 1868. Deceased by March 1873;
• Maria born 22 Jan 1871, christened 26 Jan 1871; and
• Jacob born 01 Mar 1873, christened 07 Mar 1873.

I have no further information on Elisabetha or her children.
