Anna Elisabetha Weilbrenner and Johannes Stocke
Anna Elisabetha Weilbrenner and Johannes Stocke married in Freinsheim 11 May 1824. According to a legal notice published 28 Apr 1838 and included in the Königlich bayerisches Amts- und Intelligenzblatt für die Pfalz, Anna Elisabetha's parents were Maria Katharina Fäth and Reichard Weilbrenner, a farmer and brickmaker. She was apparently born between October 1798 and 1806. It's not impossible that Johannes was the son of Anna Philippina Seltzer and Johannes Stocke born 1780, but it wouldn't be usual for a woman to marry a man 18-26 years older than she was. I suspect that Anna Elisabetha's husband was, like her, born between October 1798 and 1806 and that he was the son of Johannes born 1780 or Johannes' brother Johann Hennrich born 1774. It's also possible that he was the son of their cousin Roland born 1784 - unless Roland was the Roland Stocke who was deceased by January 1825 and died without legitimate heirs.
Anna Elisabetha and Johannes were the only couple to have children christened in Freinsheim under the name Stocke after the record gap ended in December 1815. Furthermore they only had one son, who died at the age of 16, so the Stocke name was not carried on in Freinsheim. Here are their children:
The senior Johannes Stocke may or may not be the Johannes Stocke who was mentioned in a legal notice published 17 Jun 1839 concerning, in part, pieces of land in Freinsheim and Weisenheim am Sand that Johannes Stocke co-owned with (or rented from?) Roland Stocke.
The senior Johannes Stocke died and was buried in Freinsheim 21 Jul 1852, six years after his son of the same name.
Anna Elisabetha born 1826 may be the "Susanna" Elisabetha Stocke, daughter of "Susanna" Elisabetha Weilbrenner and Johannes Stocke, who married Johann Jacob Schalter in Freinsheim 11 Apr 1854. Johann Jacob was the son of Catharina Margaretha Handrich and Johannes II Schalter christened in Ellerstadt 21 Aug 1826. Anna Elisabetha and Johann Jacob had four children born 1855-1863, but their third child died at the age of six months and their fourth child was stillborn. Susanna Elisabetha Stocke, wife of Jakob Schalter, died and was buried in Freinsheim 09 Oct 1863, the same day as her stillborn child.
Catharina born 1828 married Nicolaus Langhauser in Freinsheim 29 Dec 1857. Nicolaus was the son of Juliana Dudenhöfer and Jakob Langhauser christened 29 Jun 1826 in Ruppertsberg, 14 km south of Freinsheim. Catharina and Nicolaus had three children born 1858-1861, although their first child was buried four days after being christened and their third child, ten days. Maria Catharina Stocke, wife of Nikolaus Langhauser, died and was buried in Freinsheim 07 Nov 1861, the day before her third child was christened.
I have no further information on Anna Elisabetha Weilbrenner or her two youngest daughters, Philippina and Margaretha.
But What Happened to Heinrich? Catharina Margaretha Binder and Heinrich Stocke
On 21 Feb 1826, Heinrich Stocke married Catharina Margaretha Binder in Freinsheim. Catharina Margaretha may or may not have been the daughter of Anna Margaretha Renner and Johann Adam Binder christened in Freinsheim 08 Jul 1798. As far as I know, she and Heinrich had no children. She died and was buried in Freinsheim 15 Jun 1855.
Heinrich and Johannes Stocke seem to have been either brothers or cousins. A legal notice published 21 Oct 1844 and included in the Königlich bayerisches Amts- und Intelligenzblatt für die Pfalz mentions Johannes and Heinrich Stocke, farmers resident in Freinsheim, who are putting some real estate up for public auction in order to divide the proceeds. The property is located in Freinsheim on the Korngasse (which still exists), by the Catholic parsonage. It consists of a dwelling house together with a stable, barn, yard, "Schopp" (perhaps shop in the sense of workshop?), boiler, cellar and other equipment, the whole being worth 2,200 florins. In other words, it was a substantial property in the centre of town.
