Maria Elisabetha Reck, Catharina Stocke and Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt

Maria Elisabetha Reck and Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt

Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt was born in Freinsheim 15 Nov 1745, the youngest son of Anna Maria Rausch and Johann Moritz Ehrhardt. He was christened 17 Nov 1745.

He married Maria Elisabetha Reck in Freinsheim in June 1775. The marriage record gives neither party's parents' names. However, it seems fairly certain that Maria Elisabetha was the daughter of Anna Maria Seltzer and Johann Jacob Reck born in Freinsheim 27 Dec 1744.

What's a bit odd, however, is that there's a birth record for a Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt, son of Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt and "Elisabetha," born in Freinsheim 13 Aug 1772 and christened 15 Aug 1772. This is almost three years before Johann Wilhelm and Maria Elisabetha's marriage. I don't know if Elisabetha and Maria Elisabetha are the same person.

On 16 Oct 1777, Maria Elisabetha and Johann Wilhelm became the parents of twins. Maria Magdalena and Johann David were christened the next day.

I don't have any more information on Maria Elisabetha, who seems to have died by November 1779.

Catharina Stocke and Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt

On 23 Nov 1779 Wilhelm Ehrhardt, father's name not given, married a daughter of Johannes Stocke. I believe this to be Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt's second marriage and, on the basis of the birth records, I believe the bride to be Catharina Stocke.

The couple had six children that I can find records for. Keep in mind that Protestant christening records in Freinsheim end after September 1798 and don't resume until January 1816:

I don't have any further information on Catharina Stocke. It's possible that her husband Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt is the Johann Wilhelm Ehrhardt buried in Freinsheim 02 Apr 1823.

I believe their daughter Susanna born 1793 to be the best candidate for the mother of Johannes II Ehrhardt. However it's also possible that Johannes II's mother was one of Susanna's cousins, the daughters of Johann Wilhelm's brother Johann Heinrich.

Catharina Elisabetha Ehrhardt and Carl Simon Löckel

Catharina and Wilhelm's daughter Catharina Elisabetha born 1789 is quite possibly the Catharina Elisabetha Ehrhardt who married Carl Simon Löckel during the records gap. My best guess on Carl Simon is that he's the son of Maria Magdalena and Georg Jacob Löckel born 21 Dec 1790 and christened in Freinsheim 22 Dec 1790.

Catharina Elisabetha and Carl Simon had at least six children christened in Freinsheim that I know of:
