Catharina Elisabetha (Faber?) and Philipp Jacob Orth
Between 1792 and 1797 Catharina Elisabetha and Philipp Jacob Orth had three children christened in Freinsheim. In fact, they were the only couple having children christened under the name Orth in Freinsheim from 1788 until the records gap started in October 1798. They may also have had additional children born during the records gap.
There's a burial record for a Catharina Elisabetha Faber, wife of Philipp Jakob Orth. She died and was buried in Freinsheim 09 Jan 1829. I found records for two women named Catharina Elisabetha Faber who were born in Freinsheim at about the right time. The daughter of Susanna Philippina Selzer and Jacob Faber was christened 25 Oct 1760, while the daughter of Anna Christina and Georg Frantz Faber was born almost a decade later on 21 Sep 1770 and christened 22 Sep 1770. However, there's a Catharina Elisabetha Faber, daughter of Jacob Faber, who married Ludwig Christian Krebs in Freinsheim 17 Jan 1788. There's also a Catharina Elisabetha Faber who died and was buried in Freinsheim 08 Sep 1825 without any spouse or parents specified in her burial record.
At a guess, it was Catharina Elisabetha Faber born 1760 who married Ludwig Christian Krebs and was buried 08 Sep 1825. This leaves Catharina Elisabetha Faber born 1770 as Philipp Jacob's wife.
I couldn't find a christening record in Freinsheim for Philipp Jacob Orth at all. My best guess is that he was the son of Rosina Catharina and Johann Philipp Orth born 18 Mar 1770 and christened in Gönnheim 20 Mar 1770. There's a marriage record for Rosina Catharina "Weylbrener" and Johann Philipp Orth, married in Gönnheim 27 Jun 1769. The bride may or may not be the daughter of Catharina Elisabetha Werner and Johann Peter Weilbrenner born 19 May 1747 and christened in Freinsheim 22 May 1747.
I haven't been able to find a birth record for Johann Philipp Orth or to establish a connection between him and other members of the Orth family in Freinsheim.
Catharina Elisabetha Faber and Philipp Jacob Orth had three children for whom I found christening records in Freinsheim:
Anna Christina was probably the Anna Christina Orth who married Johann Heinrich Engel.
Georg Franz was probably the Georg Franz Orth who married Maria Barbara Engel
in Freinsheim 11 Dec 1821. Both Johann Heinrich and Maria Barbara Engel were probably the children of Christina Margaretha Schik and Georg Jacob Engel.I have no further records on Georg Peter.
As I mentioned above, Catharina Elisabetha died and was buried in Freinsheim 09 Jan 1829. I have no further information on Philipp Jacob.
Other Possible Daughters of Catharina Elisabetha (Faber?) and Philipp Jacob Orth
The following five women were married in Freinsheim 1823-1838 and may have been born in Freinsheim during the records gap:
Other Stray Orths
Catharina Orth is named as the wife of Johann Adam Weiss and the mother of Maria Franzisca Weiss in the record of Maria Franzisca's marriage to Wilhelm Saam in Freinsheim 22 Apr 1847. This would suggest that Catharina was born in or before 181, possibly much earlier. However, I suspect that Catharina "Orth" is actually Catharina Wolf. Catharina Wolf and Johann Adam Weiss or Weiß had four children christed in Freinsheim 1819-1825 plus a son who was apparently born in or before 1816 and who married in Freinsheim 05 Oct 1843. Their daughter Francisca was christened in Freinsheim 07 Jul 1825.
Francisca's husband Wilhelm Saam was Catholic. He and Francisca were married twice: on 07 Apr 1847 at Sankt Dreifaltigkeit (Holy Trinity) in Frankenthal and then 15 days later in Freinsheim. The Freinsheim marriage record gives Wilhelm's parents' names as Anna Margaretha Reis and Ludwig Saam. But in a note written by Adam Seibert, the priest who performed the marriage in Frankenthal, presumably to his counterpart in Freinsheim, Wilhelm's mother is named as Catharina Raus... (The end of the name is illegible.) The space for Francisca's mother's name is left blank.
There may be a similar mix-up in names regarding Maria Catharina Orth, who was apparently married to Heinrich Henninger. They had two children christened in Freinsheim in 1834 and 1836. However, there was also a Maria Catharina Pirmann who married Heinrich Henninger in Freinsheim 19 Jun 1832 and whose children were born 1834-1842. In one case, a child described as the son of Catharina Pirmann in his christening records is then described as the son of Maria Katharina Orth in his marriage record.
Finally, on 28 Jan 1819 Johann David Orth, son of "Bastian" Orth, was buried in Freinsheim. Johann David's burial date suggests that "Bastian" was born in or before 1801. There's a record for the burial of Sebastian Orth, husband of Christina Margaretha Scheib, in Dackenheim 01 Mar 1846. It might be that the family lived in Dackenheim. In 1819, there were apparently no Protestant burial services held in Dackenheim, so Dackenheimers often went to Freinsheim instead. But I have no further records for this family in either Freinsheim or Dackenheim.
