The Orth Family of Freinsheim
Judith and Georg Orth
The first set of records I have for the Orth family in Freinsheim are the christenings of the children of Judith and Georg Orth. Note that Judith was not a common name in Freinsheim.
If Judith's husband Georg Orth was the same man as Anna Catharina's husband Johann Georg Orth (below), then Johannes born 1720 would seem to have died by April 1737.
Anna Catharina born 1716 may or may not be the Anna Catharina Orth who married Johannes Schmidt in Freinsheim 14 Apr 1744. I found records for at least two daughters born to them in 1744 and 1750. The records are a bit confusing because there was a second couple, Maria Catharina Wagner and Johannes Schmidt, who had married in Freinsheim in 1730 and who had children born in 1747 and 1750.
Georg Daniel born 1725 is almost certainly the Georg Daniel Orth, son of Johann Georg Orth, who married Sophia Elisabetha Eisenbrod in Freinsheim 08 Aug 1748. Their daughter Maria Barbara, christened in Freinsheim 21 Jan 1750, appears to have been their only child. I have no further records for her.
Johann Moritz born 1728 may or may not be the Johann Moritz Orth who married Elisabetha Mollock or Morlock in Ellerstadt 17 Feb 1751. They seem to have had three children born in Ellerstadt: Elisabetha born August 1851, Maria Elisabetha christened 10 Aug 1756 (although her mother's name is given as Catharina Barbara Morlock) and Johannes christened 11 Sep 1757. These were the only children christened in Ellerstadt under the name Orth in the 18th century.
Anna Catharina and Johann Georg Orth
A second set of records begins a bit more than two years after the birth of Judith's last child. It may or may not be that Judith died and Georg remarried, his second wife's name being Anna Catharina.
Anna Catharina and Johann Georg had four children christened in Freinsheim:
Wilhelm Martin born 1733 may or may not be the Johann Martin Orth, son of Georg Orth, who married Johanna Christina Bawel in Freinsheim 31 Jan 1758. One of their children's christening records gives his name as Wilhelm Martin.
Johannes born 1737 may or may not be the Johannes Orth who married Carolina Stocke, daughter of Johannes Stocke, in Freinsheim in November 1767. However, there's also a Johannes Orth who married Maria Elisabetha and whose children were christened in Freinsheim 1762-1765. Is this the same Johannes Orth?
Stray Orths
Anna Christina Orth married Paul Keck in Freinsheim 07 Jul 1765. Or did she? Between 1766 and 1771 there were three children christened in Freinsheim whose parents were Paul Keck - and Christina Babl. Was "Orth" in the marriage record an error for Babl?
The other "stray Orth" I've found is Philipp Jacob Orth. Between 1792 and 1797 he and Catharina Elisabetha had three children christened in Freinsheim. They may have had additional children born after the records gap started in October 1798.
