Maria Elisabetha and Johannes Orth

Maria Elisabetha and Johannes Orth were apparently married sometime in or before 1762. Johannes may or may not have been the son of Anna Catharina and Johann Georg Orth born 05 Apr 1737 and christened in Freinsheim 07 Apr 1737.

Maria Elisabetha and Johannes had three children christened in Freinsheim:

• Johann Andreas born 13 Jun 1762, christened 15 Jun 1762;
• Anna Catharina born 21 Sep 1763, christened 22 Sep 1763; and
• Johannes born 21 Dec 1765, christened 22 Dec 1765.

Johannes born 1765 may or may not have been the Johannes Orth who married Anna Maria Petermann in Freinsheim 26 Nov 1793, but I have no further information on this couple.

Charlotta Stocke and Johannes Orth

In November 1767, almost two years after the birth of Maria Elisabetha's last child, a man named Johannes Orth married "Carolina" Stocke, daughter of Johannes Stocke, in Freinsheim. Their children's christening records refer to her as Charlotta or, in one case, Anna Charlotta. She may or may not be Jacobaea Scharlotta, the daughter of Anna Catharina Besch and Johannes Stocke born 21 Apr 1746 and christened in Freinsheim 24 Apr 1746.

Charlotta and Johannes had 11 children christened in Freinsheim, including two pairs of twins. One pair of twins died the day of birth:

• Johann Hennrich born 26 Nov 1768, christened 27 Nov 1768;
• Georg Frantz Orth born 14 Feb or Mar 1772, christened 15 Feb or Mar 1772;
• Christina Elisabetha born 05 Sep 1773, christened the same day;
• Johanna Judica - that's an unusual name! - born 30 Jan 1776, christened 01 Feb 1776;
• Susanna Catharina born 11 Feb 1779, christened 12 Feb 1779;
• An unnamed child, Susanna Catharina's twin, born 11 Feb 1779, christened 12 Feb 1779;
• Susanna Philippina born 04 Sep 1781, christened 05 Sep 1781;
• Regina born 04 Aug 1782, christened 05 Aug 1782;
• Anna Magdalena born 22 Dec 1784, christened 23 Dec 1784;
• Anna Margaretha born 19 Dec 1787, christened and died the same day; and
• Charlotte, born 19 Dec 1787, christened and died the same day.

Christina Elisabetha born 1773 may or may not be the Christina Elisbetha Orth who married Johann Peter Beschert in Freinsheim 04 Aug 1795. I wasn't able to find any further records for this couple.

Regina born 1782 may or may not be the Regina Orth who married Georg Lauer. Their daughter Juliana, born in or about 1809, married Johann Christian Steinle in Grünstadt 22 Feb 1831.

Anna Magdalena born 1784 may or may not be the Magdalena Orth who married Christian I Huck, probably the son of Justus Huck born 10 Apr 1784 and christened the same day. They had at least one child born during the records gap and four more children born 1817-1827. Christian died and was buried in Freinsheim 23 Oct 1852. Magdalena and Christian's daughter Elisabetha christened 07 Mar 1817 is probably the Elisabetha Huck who married David Walz 14 Aug 1838. Their daughter Charlotta christened 31 Jan 1827 married Johann Heinrich Pausch 28 Aug 1856. Johann Heinrich was the brother of Christian Pausch, who married Louise Orth, the daughter of Barbara Engel and Georg Frantz Orth.
