Christina Retzer and Johann Georg Sohn

Of the eight children christened in Freinsheim under the name Sohn between 1816 (i.e. after the records gap ended) and 1837, six were born to Sibilla Retzer and Johannes Sohn, one was born to Elisabeth and Johannes Sohn and one was born to Christina Retzer and Johann Georg Sohn. marriage and death records reveal one more child born to Sibilla and Johannes as well as one more born to Georg, with the mother's name not mentioned.

Johann Georg Sohn may or may not have been the son of Margaretha and Peter Sohn born 25 Aug 1778 and christened in Freinsheim 26 Aug 1778. His mother may or may not have been Elisabetha Margaretha Schildbein.

I don't have any information as to Christina Retzer's family at all, and I don't have a marriage record for her and Georg.

What I do know is that they had a son named Jacob who was christened in Freinsheim 06 May 1816 and who married Philippina Düssel in Freinsheim 28 Jun 1849. Philippina was the daughter of Jacob Düssel and Catharina Winter.

Jacob was born only five months after the end of the records gap, so it's entirely possible that he had older siblings. In particular there's a death record for a Georg Sohn, son of Georg Sohn, who died and was buried in Freinsheim 03 Dec 1822.

It may also be that Christina and Georg were the parents of the Peter Sohn who married Luisa Isserheld in Freinsheim 07 Feb 1837. I have no evidence for this other than the paucity of couples who were having children under the name Sohn at this time.

Johann Georg Sohn, the husband of Christina Retzer, died and was buried in Freinsheim 13 Jun 1854. Christina died and was buried in Freinsheim 14 Sep 1861.
