Maria Catharina Muschel and Christian Hartmann Engel
Christian Hartmann Engel, son of Anna Clara Oberliesin and Johann Jacob Engel, was christened in Dackenheim 12 Oct 1744. On 18 Apr 1769 he married Maria Catharina Muschel, daughter of Jacob Muschel, in Dackenheim. I have no further information on Maria Catharina's background except to say that the surname Muschel is more common Haßloch, 21 km SSE of Dackenheim, than in Dackenheim.
Christian Hartmann was referred to as simply Hartmann in his marriage record and all subsequent records.
Maria Catharina and Hartmann had eight children, two of whom died young:
Maria Catharina Engelin, wife of Hartmann Engel, died and was buried in Dackenheim 11 Apr 1784.
There's also a burial record dated 23 Aug 1794 for August Hartmann Engel. Was this Christian Hartmann Engel?
Johannes born in 1773 may be the Johannes Engel who married Maria Sidonia Claus(s), the daughter of Anna Margaretha and Johann Philipp Clauss born and christened 14 Dec 1772 in Großkarlbach. The only records I have for this couple are their burial records. Maria Sidonia died and was buried in Freinsheim 23 Jan 1824. Johannes died and was buried in Dackenheim 16 Jan 1846.
Johannes born in 1773 is also one of the two possibilities for the Johannes Engel, farmer, who in 1836 was the chief guardian of Jacob and Catharina Engel, the younger siblings of Philipp Engel and Magdalena Engel, wife of Thomas Siegmayer.
Johann Martin born in 1777 is one of the two possibilties for the Martin Engel who married Elisabetha (and?) Barbara Mäurer. He's also one of four possibilities for the Martin Engel who married Margaretha Krebil and was living in Herxheim in 1827.
Catharina Magdalena born in 1780 may or may not be the Catharina Magdalena Engel who married Friedrich Haab and who died and was buried in Dackenheim 17 Sep 1839. However, this could also be her cousin Catharina Magdalena born in 1776.
Johann Henrich born in 1790 is one of the two most likely possibilities for the Heinrich Engel who married Catharina Stephan.
Jacob born in 1784 is one of the two most likely possibilities for the Jacob Engel who married Christina Schwind.
